



Kadejah Oni has been mesmerizing people with her voice since her first breath.
A native New Orleanian, she found huge success while a student at Maryland's Bowie State University, where she slayed audiences with her heart-stopping performances in The Wiz, Ain't Misbehaving', and Dreamgirls (to name a few). After earning a degree in Music Education in 1996, Oni brought her passion for personal and spiritual development to the students in the Washington, DC public school system, where she was an inspiring classroom teacher. In 2002, she went on to star in the African Continuum Theater Company's adaption of Zora Neale huston's Spunk. Though a newcomer to Washington's professional stage community, her performance landed her on the list of nominees for the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Residental musical.
And she won.
Next year, she'll take the stage again. The Oni Project is the working title of the one-woman show she always knew she was destined to perform, and it now finally taking form. Using her voice t animate the lives of post-Katrina New Orleans, The Project will inform, heal, and inspire any audience. And like everything she's ever touched, it will succeed greatly.
